Welcome Volunteers! Bienvenido Voluntarios!

44 Volunteers arrived Friday (6/3/2011) from Eastside Baptist Church of Mountain Home, Fellowship Baptist Church of Batesville, First Baptist Church of Melbourne, and various churches of Christovall, Texas.
They have been busy getting their schedule together and all the items needed for the clinics, vbs, etc.

The group brought many items and games for the Peruvian people. They plan to take pictures of each person in the clinic and give it to them when the leave.  They also brought clothing for all ages as well as hand-made dresses for the little girls.  Madison ended up with one!

They also brought bags and bags of toys (some from happy meals and oriental trading) and a big parachute jumper.
Counting and counting and counting pills

Some printing labels an placing them on divided bags

Some working on cabinets for the Monte Sion Clinic
Last night they went to the Aldea orphanage.  They played with the children and also did a weenie roast.

Justin and I were not able to join the group at the orphanage as we are still trying to gather our home necessities. You take for granted shower curtain hangers and bathroom cabinets.  My how America has really spoiled us!
We went grocery shopping for the first time.  For all vegetables that are not pre-packed you have to go to a counter that a helper weighs them then puts the price on it.  We were able to find most products we have grown a custom to having like pretzels, dorito chips , chicken breast (rather than the whole chicken), noodles, ramen noodles.  We are having a hard time finding a few things but we have a list for the "Me Me" to bring to us.  Justin's mother (Pam aka Me Me) is coming to stay for 3 weeks.  The girls are really excited that she can come visit.  We are all trying to get the home together before she gets here.  We know God will show her what we see.
Pam is coming with a group from Texas and 2 members from GSFBC.  They are not coming to Villa Milagro but to South Peru in the Tambo area.  They will all fly into Lima but part ways as Pam will be coming by herself to Cajamarca.  Pray that the team will have safe travels, be open to the Peruvian culture, and open to what the Lord has in store for them.  Pray that Pam will get to Cajamarca safely with NO bumps!
Also Pray for the team that is here this week.  They are travelling to Chancay which is about 3 1/5 hours away.
Vaya Con Dios!!
