Monte Sion Medical Clinic
Monte Sion and Villa Milagro have partnered up to support many ministries in Cajamarca. One new ministry is the Monte Sion Medical Clinic. This clinic is the only clinic in Cajamarca who will represent itself as a Christian Institution, designed to meet physical as well as spiritual illness. This clinic will also be the only clinic that will have home visits after villagers receive medical attention. It will be the only clinic that offers a Chaplain/ Pastoral counseling on site and in the homes. This clinic will be the only clinic that will treat absolute destitute people without any hope to pay for services.
The clinic is just under 9,000 sqft with 4 consulting rooms with private baths, 2 dental chairs, 4 bed overnight rooms, lab, operating room, portable x-ray, pharmacy, record/registration area, waiting room, chaplain office, evangelism/chapel room, private conference room, public restrooms with private water well, and an emergency backup electrical generator.
The facility is lacking funding to finish construction—the finishing touches. The MVI Board and Larry are currently raising funds to help this dream be a reality.
Amazon Trip 2011
Wow, what an experience. We left January 8th and back to the states on the 22nd. There were 45 volunteers ranging from Texas, Georgia, Arkansas and even Peru. This trip was a full medical mission trip. We flew into Iquitos and traveled by boat over 800 miles up river. We traveled at night and held the clinic during the day. Over 3200 people were seen, 2000 bibles handed out and many saved. We started with one boat , that boat sank, went to 3 boats, then went to only 2 boats– one boat we named the “Good” which sleeps 18 with A/C and the other named the “Ugly” which is a cargo boat with NO A/C.

Support Raising
Because of Geyer Springs First Baptist Church, we have most of the financial support to stay at Villa Milagro until November 2011. This is only for 6 months. We are working on materials (testimony video, informational video, brochures) to continue to raise support . Our goal is to stay at Villa Milagro 9/10 months every year. Volunteers come to Villa Milagro every month except November and December. These months we will return to the states and continue raising support for the ministries along with visiting with family and friends.
We Sold It, Now What??
Since June, Justin has been meeting with his mentor, Dave Hughey the Associate Pastor of GSFBC about being led to missions. We came forward in church and committed to missions in Peru. Little did we know, God had a plan ready for us. GSFBC had been raising funds for this mission field. God is always faithful, God is answering our prayers as we ask Him to send us to the mission field at Villa Milagro, Cajamarca Peru.
Just The Beginning
"Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”
Matthew 9:38
Dear Family and Friends!
We want to say thank you for your support and also bring you an update. We are on track to be on the mission field in Cajamarca, Peru. God is answering yours and our prayers by placing financial opportunities to support our mission. We still are planning to leave the states in the middle of May and arrive in Cajamarca, Peru at the Villa Milagro Farm by the week of the 15th.
Praise the Lord!
It all began the summer of 2010. Justin and I felt pulled to go on a Peru Mission trip with our church, Geyer Springs First Baptist Church. We didn’t have the financial capability nor the experience as that was our first mission trip. We prayed to our Father that we would sell our boat and use the funds to go. Selling our boat was like taking a pacifier away from a baby. Ugly and painful. So we went! No one can ever describe to you what you will experience on a mission trip. They can try but what you receive from God is more powerful than words. After coming back from that trip, we knew then that our lives had to change. We had to spend more time in church, more time teaching the Word, and more time to further His kingdom. So with a bunch of praying, crying, and praying some more we put our “dream” home and vehicles up for sale. Having the large home, fully loaded vehicles, living the “American Dream” was costing us time away from the Lord. We believe that we should live for our Kingdom in Heaven rather than chasing a Kingdom here on earth.
